Overview
GoTalents ("we," "us," or "our") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that operates the website www.gotalents.org. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our website and services, including the Case Status Tracker.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. Our Case Status Tracker is designed to work without storing your personal data.
What data we collect
We collect minimal data. Here is a complete list of what we may process:
Case Status Tracker
When you use the Case Status Tracker, you enter a USCIS receipt number (e.g., EAC-XX-XXX-XXXXX). This number is sent directly to the USCIS API to retrieve your case status. We do not store, log, or retain your receipt number or the case status result on our servers. The data exists only during your active browser session and is not saved after you close the page.
Standard website data
Like most websites, our hosting provider (Vercel) may automatically collect:
- IP address (for server functionality)
- Browser type and version
- Pages visited and time of visit
This data is collected by Vercel as part of standard web hosting. We do not use this data to identify individual users.
Data we do NOT collect
We do not collect:
- Names, email addresses, or phone numbers (unless you contact us directly)
- Geolocation data
- Financial or payment information
- Medical or health information
- Contact lists
- Social Security numbers or immigration document contents
- Biometric data
How we use your data
The receipt number you enter in the Case Status Tracker is used for one purpose only: to query the USCIS API and display your case status. It is not stored, analyzed, shared, or used for any other purpose.
Standard website data collected by our hosting provider is used only to ensure the website functions properly and to monitor overall site performance. We do not use this data to create user profiles or track individual behavior.
We do not share, sell, or transfer any de-identified, anonymized, or pseudonymized data to any third party.
Data sharing and third parties
We do not sell your data. We do not sell data for profit or any other monetary transaction.
The only third parties involved in our service are:
- USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services) - receives the receipt number you enter to return your case status. This is the core function of the Case Status Tracker. USCIS has its own privacy policy governing how it handles this data.
- Vercel - our hosting provider, which processes standard web server logs as described above. Vercel's privacy practices are governed by their own privacy policy.
- Google Analytics - we use Google Analytics to understand overall website traffic (page views, visitor counts). Google Analytics may use cookies. You can opt out of Google Analytics by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Third-party use or disclosure of user information, including de-identified, anonymized, or pseudonymized data, is prohibited without active consent from the user. All third parties involved in our service are bound by the terms and conditions of this privacy policy.
Since we do not collect personal data through the Case Status Tracker, data sharing has no impact on other individuals (such as family members or related parties).
You have the right to choose not to use the Case Status Tracker. If you do use it, the only data transmitted is the receipt number you voluntarily enter. There are no risks beyond those inherent in any internet communication.
Data retention
We do not retain any personal data from the Case Status Tracker. Receipt numbers and case status results are not stored on our servers at any point.
Standard server logs maintained by Vercel are retained according to Vercel's data retention policies, typically for a limited period for operational purposes.
Since we do not have user accounts, there are no dormant accounts to manage. No personal data accumulates over time on our systems.
Data deletion
Since we do not store personal data from the Case Status Tracker, there is typically no data to delete. However, if you believe we hold any of your personal information (for example, from an email you sent us), you can request permanent deletion by contacting us at egorka23@gmail.com.
We will process deletion requests within 30 days of receiving them. You will receive a confirmation once the deletion is complete.
